But I Don’t Photograph Pets
“But I don’t photograph pets,” you might ask yourself. Outdoors, indoors, in the studio – there are so many possibilities to create extraordinary images that celebrate dogs and the people they love. Barbara will share how creates her images; looking for quality of light, composition, textures, architectural details and patterns.
Barbara’s story is an inspiring one, she is a brilliant photographer working with Parkinson’s Disease. She has accomplished what many have dreamed of despite living with a debilitating disease. Creating artistic dog photography is the heart and soul of Barbara’s business. Her work was recently on the cover and feature article in the August 2014 edition of Professional Photographer Magazine.
For over a decade Barbara has worked as a professional photographer out of a storefront retail studio, photographing families, children, corporate and dogs. Presently she is working out of her home studio – Poppyblue Photography – which has allowed her to focus on what she loves: dog photography, mentoring, and teaching.
Poppyblue Photography is located outside of Chicago in scenic Long Grove. Barbara mentors aspiring dog photographers, co-instructs pet photography workshops with Paw Print Divas Pet Photography Workshops nation-wide, is a national speaker on the fine art of dog photography.
She’s a two-time winner of the Professional Photographers of America – PPA – Prestigious 2013 Platinum Medal Award, and will be one of the platform speakers in February 2015 at Imaging USA in Nashville
